On the reverse of the drawing there is a pencil and watercolour sketch of the same animal in the same position, facing to the left. The animal was identified as the Potoroo, Potorous tridactylus, by John Calaby in Wheeler and Smith (1988) The author if this catalogue record is Suzanne Stenning.
